A unique business venture featuring up to 30 small, medium and large dogs can be found at the Big Dog Café. What started out as an Alaskan Malamute Farm developed into the idea that people should be able to play with different types of dog breeds whilst enjoying a delicious menu.
The café features not just any easily obtainable dog breeds but rare ones such as the Central Asian Shepherd dog and a Borzoi. The co-owners of the café also breed Alaskan Malamutes and are a part of the show dog community. They tell the Thai Law Forum that it is not cheap to import these breeds, for example the Borzoi shown in the following interview with the owners’ costs about 200,000 baht.
The café has a 200 baht entrance fee to provide 24/7 supervision of the dogs and to make sure they are healthy and well maintained.
